The context
GM's 6.2-liter L87 V8 was already the subject of a major recall and a federal investigation covering earlier model years. What this data shows is owners of 2026 models — vehicles built after the recall was announced — filing engine complaints at a rising rate. Among the reports: engines that passed a recall inspection and later failed anyway.2
