Common questions

My transmission shudders but the dealer says it's "normal for the 8-speed." Is that a lemon law issue?
It can be. A shudder that affects drivability is a substantial defect under most state lemon laws, even if the dealer calls it normal. What matters is whether the problem impairs your vehicle's use, safety, or value. If you've brought it in and they haven't fixed it, that counts.
How many times does my truck need to go in for the same repair?
Most states require two or more repair attempts for the same defect, or 30+ cumulative days out of service. Some states set the bar lower for safety-related problems. Our free case review checks your specific situation against your state's rules.
Does this work for Chevrolet and Cadillac too, or just GMC?
Yes. Lemon laws apply to the manufacturer, not the badge. GM makes GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick. If your Silverado, Escalade, or Enclave has a recurring defect, the same protections apply.
I bought it used. Can I still qualify?
It depends on your state. Some states cover used vehicles if they were still under the original manufacturer warranty when the defect appeared. Others have separate used-car lemon laws. Our free check factors this in.
Will this cost me anything?
No. The qualification check is free. If your case moves forward, lemon law attorneys work on contingency. The manufacturer pays their fees if you win. You pay nothing out of pocket.
